Mission Beach offers a dynamic take on the classic boardwalk beach town with 3.5 miles of oceanfront boardwalk (called Oceanfront Walk) that stretches from South Mission Beach to the North end of Pacific Beach. There are numerous rental shops, restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and more! This is where you’ll find the iconic Belmont Park – a boardwalk amusement park, which features the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, originally built in 1925 but since restored, and other fun rides, an arcade, zipline and rock-climbing wall. At Mission Beach, you’ll find people walking, biking, rollerblading and skateboarding down the boardwalk. The long stretch of white sand invites you to relax on the beach and the rolling waves call you to splash in the water.
You’ll be living the San Diego beach lifestyle at this fun beach.
Pacific Beach – As you walk North on Oceanfront Walk along the boardwalk from Mission Beach, you’ll enter Pacific Beach (or “PB” as it is known by the locals). At the North end, located at the west end of Garnet Avenue, the Crystal Pier is adjacent to the boardwalk and is a public pier and hosts the Crystal Pier Hotel (http://www.crystalpier.com/). This beach town is home to one of San Diego’s more developed nightlife scenes, with a great variety of bars, eateries, and clothing stores located along Garnet Avenue and Mission Boulevard.
